One of Nepal’s most dangerous mountain ranges, Annapurna is located in the eastern part of the Himalayas, next to the Kali Gandaki River. The highest peak is 8,091 m. Located in the northern part of Kathmandu, Gosainkunda is an ice lake associated with many other lakes. Hindu pilgrims come to visit the lake during the full moon festival in August because they believe the lake was created by Shiva god and the image of the god will appear on the water surface. Kala Patthar is a small mount with the name meaning “black stone”. The mount is 5,570 m high and is on the way to EBC – a campsite of Everest conquest. Kala Patthar is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal due to its modest elevation, but it does not lack the adventurous climbing experience. From here you can look at the summits of Everest, Nuptse Nup II and Changtse with magnificent views.
Situated in the remote area of Dolpo, brave trekkers would love to conquer the lake for a view of beautiful natural scenery of Nepal. Phoksundo is the deepest lake in Nepal, very clean and clear water, but there are no signs of living below. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Phoksundo Lake is becoming more attractive. Tourists are reminded in advance that this place is a sacred site of Buddhist followers, so bathing and swimming here is strictly prohibited.
During the journey to explore Nepal, you should visit several villages and go through Poon Hill to learn more about the different cultural traits.
